Support is where the rubber meets the road and you know how important that voice is on the other end of the line. Our team was asked to share with us their Top 5 Automation Questions. Here’s what they said:
- (NexGen) Why is Mini Editor unable to load certain .wav files?
Although not mandatory, we recommend that all audio files be converted using AFC prior to playing in NexGen. Certain audio files simply cannot be opened until the header data within the file is modified for use with NexGen. AFC (Audio File Converter) is used to convert audio files in a way in which NexGen can not only play the file but can read most, if not all META data. - (Zetta) How do I import my audio Library into my Zetta system?
RCS has developed a utility that allows the importation of Audio along with META data into the Zetta Automation system. This utility is available by calling RCS support. We will load the utility for you and walk you through the steps of loading the audio and META data. The utility is very flexible and can accommodate many types of audio files. - (NexGen) I have added a new Opto, Source, or Relay yet the system doesn’t seem to see it?
We often find that the process used to add the new Opto, Source, or Relay was executed perfectly. However to get NexGen to see the new Opto, Source, or Relay requires a restart of NexGen on the Audio server. Nexgen takes between 30 seconds and 3 minutes to restart. Therefore, an Audio server can be restarted if a song that is a minimal of 3:30 minutes in length is playing. Simply wait until the song starts to play and then shutdown NexGen. Allow Play.exe to continue to run. NexGen will restart and the song will continue to play. This allows the restart of the NexGen Audio server without interfering with the on-air play stream. - (NexGen) What is the current ASI driver?
The current version of the ASI driver is 4.10.11. There is a 32-bit and 64-bit version of this driver. This driver has been tested and approved by our QA Department. Keep in mind that if you have an ASI60xx/ASI61xx series card that are REV “A” through REV “E” then an older driver is required. REV “F” cards and higher of the ASI60xx/ASI61xx series will use the 4.10.11 driver. - (NexGen + AFC) How do I convert audio with AFC and then have NexGen auto import the audio for use?
Although it is a time consuming process to complete this setup, the end result will save lots of time. Please see the following link for the steps necessary to setup the process: ftp://ftp.rcsoga.com/anonymous/Documentation/mp3audioconvert.pdf
