The first new radio station in Singapore in 20 years, Kiss 92FM, went on air September 3, 2012 and sounds great. Check out their stream here. Kiss carries live local programming 6am to 8pm, syndicated 8pm to midnight, automation from midnight to 6am, and uses RCS ZETTA as its playout software.
RCS CONNECT talked to Music Director / Presenter Jeremy Ratnam about his new station:
RCS: What are your impressions of the Zetta / GSelector experience so far?
Jeremy: FAST, FRIENDLY and FANTASTIC.
RCS: So, Kiss 92FM is one of the first stations in South East Asia to use Zetta; what are your initial thoughts about the workflow?
Jeremy: “Back on shift the other day, I had to quickly grab a breaking news story from my gmail, and immediately edited the story into the current news bulletin by recording my VO with Zetta’s Quick Record, and added the News Bed via Hotkeys. After making the quick trims, I dragged that Quick Record audio from the Library onto the current Log. Then I copy-pasted my Quick Record news package at the top of each hour. It took me just four minutes to do it all and with 10 minutes to spare before my next talk-set! Amazing!”Also, if by mistake you dragged and inserted something wrong from the Library onto the Log, the Unskip button is a very useful button to Unschedule it, and if you ever needed that audio back into the schedule, just Unskip and it’ll run again. It’s like an on and off switch! Easy!”
RCS: Is there any innovation in the new Zetta you’d like to pass along to your fellow broadcasters?
Jeremy: “Stacks is a remarkable tool! Stacks makes life so comfortable and with the precise input timing of a fade, the fade in-and-out from one hook to another is seamless! Outstanding! Especially if you need a quick recap of the Top 5 songs from yesterday…”
RCS: You also have GSelector working alongside and Zetta; how is that working for you?
Jeremy: There’s been so much ease with GSelector; from the construction or editing of a new clock to the birth of a new song! I find the icons very user friendly and easy to understand. GSelector has a very clean-cut look to it and is the backbone to the entire system. www.jeremyratnam.blogspot.com
