The world’s largest broadcast software company, RCS, showed off full mobile/tablet versions of its radio studio tools at BroadcastAsia in Singapore this week.
Mike Powell, Vice President, International Operations of RCS told Asia Radio Today that it was the first time existing and prospective clients could play with its playout software Zetta2GO, music scheduler Selector2Go and traffic software Aquira2GO.
The mobile/tablet 2GO versions were announced earlier this year at NAB.
Powell explained that 2GO offered clients the same functionality as desktop versions of Zetta, Selector and Aquira while on the go, in the palm of their hands.
RCS says 2GO works on all of today’s contemporary browsers and across platforms and mobile devices. This includes most PC and Mac computers as well as the vast majority of current smart phones, tablets and e-readers, including the iPad and iPhone.
The data flow is kept small to enable fast performance, even on mobile networks like 3G.
As well as its stand at the trade show, RCS also chaired the radio track of the BroadcastAsia conference on Thursday, which saw nine dedicated radio sessions, compared to zero last year.
