RCS, the world’s largest broadcast software company, has launched an all-new automation system on the opening day of Broadcast Asia in the high-tech city-state of Singapore. The initial market for Zetta will be China where RCS has already established itself as one of the leading software vendors to the rapidly expanding Chinese commercial radio industry.
The Chinese language version of Zetta has a clean, modern user interface that is easy-to-learn and intuitive to operate in busy studio environments. Zetta seamlessly integrates with GSelector for full-circle scheduling, playout and tracking, requiring the least amount of data entry of any system that has preceded it.
Philippe Generali, President and CEO of RCS said: “We’re proud to say that Zetta will be recognized as the most advanced radio automation system in the world. Of course it incorporates the very best features of its illustrious predecessors, NexGen Digital and Master Control, but Zetta has been built from a clean sheet of paper, so it also incorporates many totally new cutting-edge features.”
He added: “RCS has always been the broadcast software innovator – the pioneer of so many great systems and ideas over the years – but now Zetta raises the automation bar higher than ever before.”
RCS says Zetta has been three years in the making and uses the very latest software technologies to ensure that it represents the true next generation in media playback for a rapidly changing broadcast industry.
Zetta’s development has been cloaked in secrecy until now, but using a project codename, some of Zetta’s concepts have already been evaluated and tested by RCS customers and their enthusiastic feedback has been incorporated into the launch product. Private showings of English-language versions of Zetta wowed customers who visited the RCS booth at the Spring 2009 NAB in Las Vegas.
Philippe Generali commented: “Zetta was designed from the ground-up to be totally flexible in configuration, from a single workstation, to a network and to the web. Zetta users can expect one of the most robust automation systems ever released to the radio industry, anywhere in the world.”
RCS has not yet announced when Zetta will be launched to additional markets outside of China.
