“Wanted to write and let you know Stan Priest in RCS Support just solved a big old thorn in my side request, to highlight vocalist minimum separation on my editor. For my needs on two extremely tight formats and as a tie saver this feature is nothing short of critical. Stan was able to get me the solution by working with multiple members of your staff to get input, which shows passion and professionalism beyond the call of duty. I’m grateful your team came up with this solution as it is going to create time and product efficiency which will allow me to both save time and output a better product.” – Cat Collins Townsquare
What was the issue you ask?
The station was slotting seven of their nine categories in GSelector. They wanted a dramatic way to see in the Editor any song with a vocalist separation less than 30 minutes.
What was the solution?
We advised them to implement the vocalist minimum separation rule set to 30 minutes and prioritized as Unbreakable. We had them create a separate priority list for the slotted categories, then we set Highlight Lowest Threshold to 0 in the Editor. Afterward, opening the schedule in the Editor and pressing Shift+F9 to retest caused all of the songs whose vocalist violated minimum separation to become highlighted.
