How many rules around rate management do your staff have to remember during the lifecycle and approval process of an advertising order? Do they have a Base Rate for a standard 30 second commercial that is adjusted if the duration is different, if they choose prime placement such as first in break, and again if the chosen Day Part is time restricted on the Spot Line? Are there daily Monday through Sunday or seasonal rate fluctuations during peak periods? Would your managers like great revenue and yield reporting all the time while maintaining the rate a spot should have been sold at compared to the rate the spot was sold at?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you need to discuss Aquira with your local RCS Office as a solution to your Sales and Traffic needs. Aquira makes the approval process seamless with pre-defined rate rules and a display to users of the level of extra discount the Sales Team might have applied.
There are endless combinations and with Aquira almost every use case has been covered with our intricate Rate Card design. Manual Rate Cards are also possible if users would prefer to set their own Manual Rates. It is even possible to configure the Rate Cards to slowly introduce new Rate rules over time. Aquira can be configured to be as simple or advanced as your business rules dictate.
Here is how you can configure some aspects of your Rate Card business rules:
The following Rate Card Duration Percentages in this example shows a base rate of 100% set for 30 second spots. Any spots booked with duration less than 30 seconds will calculate a different Rate Card Rate, depending on the percentage you specify. You can have many different configurations and customize your Station/Day Part/Spot Classification combinations to calculate rates with different base rate durations. Your Music format might sell based on 30 second spots, however your Talk format might sell based on 15 second spot durations. You can configure the rate adjustments down to 1 second granularity or not have any adjustments for duration at all. Aquira is very flexible.
Another configuration option is the Rate Card Break Position Percentages and can be configured differently for your unique formats. You can configure a Rate loading to be applied to all non-standard spots. In this example you can see 1 (First in Break) and L (Last in Break) are configured to be twice the rate of a standard (Any) spot. TT (Top & Tail) and TMT (Top, Middle & Tail) are then 3 times the standard spot rate.
Here is a basic example, after all the rules have been configured, where 1 x 30 second spot is booked on a Thursday. If you see below the Rate Card Value for this one spot is set at $450.00. However, this is overridden with a $10.00 Rate. It then shows this is 97.78% below the rate it should have been sold at.
If the Spot duration is altered from 30 seconds to 60 seconds you can see the Rate Card Total Amount has now doubled.
Traffic is the heart of your business. Without a firm grasp on every detail of spot scheduling, you may leave money on the table. If your aim is profit, then Aquira should be in your sights.
