You’ve heard us say this before, “Zetta can be completely customizable so we encourage users to configure their Zetta system to best fit their everyday workflows.” For this week’s RCS Live, we demonstrated how each user can create and customize their Zetta experience with their themes and appearances. Users can set their own Zetta Metal, Dark or Light Theme, adjust the color of their play assets or even highlight specific attributes. This session was all about customizing the look of your Zetta.
Starting with the new themes, in Zetta 5.21.1. RCS introduced the brand new Zetta Light theme to counter the Zetta Dark, while giving the original Zetta Metal theme a proper upgrade in quality and performance. Users can adjust their theme at any point by going to the username at the top right of Zetta, select User Preferences and then select their desired theme. After hitting save, Zetta will update the display, but it’s best practice to close and reopen Zetta. And, with Zetta’s detached play button, you know that users can close Zetta without sacrificing the on air product.
If you wanted to further customize your Zetta experience, there are additional Zetta settings that can be found within Config | Themes & Appearances, however, let’s start with how we assign those custom themes to each user. If you open your profile under Config | Accounts, you see that each user has their own Preference. That’s the key that allows each user to feature their own custom profile.
Now that we know how to assign a theme / preference, we can start to adjust your theme. Again, Config | Themes & Appearances, this is broken down into three subtabs: Themes, Appearances and Row Highlighting. If you wanted to adjust any of the broader, non-attribute value settings, then start with the Theme tab. You can see that majority of these settings are broken down by the module. For example, On Air will allow you to control the On Air module colors and fonts. Make a note of the background and foreground color options. Since this is your automation and we’re live, we wouldn’t recommend playing with this too much, especially during a primary daypart, and if you are going to adjust any colors, make sure to take some backups. Also, if you’re sharing usernames, just be aware that any changes to the shared Preference will be altered for any user who is assigned that Preference. It’s best practice to duplicate an existing theme, customize it and then assign it to your Zetta user.
If the Themes tab allows users to adjust module formatting, like Play Asset’s Song and Link colors, then Appearances gives administrators the ability to control specific attributes. Make a note of the Field, like Sound Code, Station specific formatting, and the Value, like Pop. Then there’s the traditional Foreground and Background formatting options.
Finally, if you want to highlight the entire row when an attribute is present, use the Row Highlighting to define the Field, Station and Value. The Foreground and Background formatting is featured at the top of the window since you can apply multiple fields to a single highlight. It’s also important to note that if you create a Zetta Custom Field, users can also color customize that Custom Field, which comes into play if there is a special field you want to design and then include as a visual aid in the Logs module for your staff.
Remember, Zetta is very flexible, versatile and user friendly. If you want to change the color of an attribute – create a theme and assign it to the desired user! Of course, with user rights and restrictions, if you find that you don’t have access to some of these workflows, reach out to your engineer or administrator to help you customize your Zetta experience.
