This past Spring NAB Show in Las Vegas, I was reminded how much I appreciate the relationship we have with our software users. Over the years, there have been hundreds of people I have worked with in some capacity, and it never fails that each year I meet someone in person for the first time that I have spoken to on the phone forever.
One of our longest relationships is with KNOM in Nome, Alaska. They have a great staff there who have used an RCS playout system from the other side of the 165th West Latitude for years and years. If you look at their website, you can see they have kept up with the times and have a modern presence. They engage their listeners in every way possible and are deeply passionate about their programming. Ric Schmidt carries on a rich legacy started by the late Tom Busch, who we lost nearly two years ago. They are both great men and I am honored to have met them. With KNOM you can expect the best and each year they win award after award for their great work.
Once again this year we were deeply humbled and honored when Ric stopped by the trade show booth with his latest award. He told us, “Couldn’t do this without you.” Well, the truth is Ric, we couldn’t do what we do, without you.
Every year, we are challenged by changes in the business to create new and different tools. Some years it’s that gotta-have-it feature to take advantage of new ways you need to deliver your content; some years money is tight and we hear, “we really want to go with your system, but we simply don’t have the capital budget” – which means we all have to get creative with financing and creating opportunities (like barter) to help to pay for systems.
Whatever the challenge, we are always for it, and aim to exceed your expectations. We have a world-class support staff, so we are not just creating software, we will work with you every day. Thanks to all of our Ric Schmidts out there, winning awards and making the industry a great one to be involved in. Thanks for letting us be a part of it.
