“What are your plans when a disaster strikes?” Insurance isn’t purchased after you break your leg, it’s before. Luckily, RCS is equipped with multiple tools to keep your stations on the air, including the evolving RCS Cloud Disaster Recovery. RCS Cloud DR will back up your audio, metadata, schedules, and SQL backups, allowing your team to continue to broadcast in minutes, not hours, so that you don’t miss a single commercial break or experience a loss of revenue.
We’ve done numerous blog posts on RCS Cloud DR, so let’s discuss what’s new for 2022. From the security standpoint, RCS continues to implement modern security best practices, adding multiple roadblocks to combat cyber attacks. Since no one is technically 100% secure, we’re adding multiple variables to make it especially difficult for hackers to compromise your data.
If there is a natural disaster, like a fire or flood, a cryptoware attack, server failure, or even simple hardware or software upgrades, RCS Cloud will be available to start in a moment’s notice – even from your phone! Remember, we’re not downloading anything from the app store. RCS Cloud is a URL that doesn’t require VPN access due to its two-factor authentication. Then, when you overcome the disaster, simply restore your SQL backups from RCS Cloud and we’ll dynamically rebuild your audio library based on the upcoming schedule.
As an added benefit, not only will RCS Cloud Disaster Recovery backup your site, but it also allows your team to become more familiar with cloud operations. We continue to add new features to RCS Cloud automation and with your system already running in the cloud, it’s only a matter of time before you’ll be first in line to operate your station via the cloud fulltime.
From music and traffic logs, to automation, remote capabilities, cloud, news, streaming and more, RCS is your radio integration solution. We’re excited to launch another round of RCS Lives for 2022. We have some helpful topics on the horizon for every type of user, so set your reminders for RCS Live every Thursday at 11am ET on Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and Twitter Live. If you’re looking to utilize the latest and greatest RCS features, you can become a beta user!
